Before filling the form, one must pay heed to certain eligibility criteria that are rudimentary to the application process. The ICAI requires the following conditions to be completed before one appears for the CA foundation: 

  • The candidate must have completed their 10+2 examination i.e. senior secondary level or its equivalent from a recognized board or university. 
  • Applicants must complete a rigorous training period of 4 months and register by 31st June (for the November exam) or 31st December (for the May exam). This is done so as to establish that only focused candidates appear for it. 

2)Dates of Registration

CA Foundation course is conducted twice a year — in November and May.

While the last date of CA Foundation registration for the May & November 2021 sessions are closed, the registration for the May 2022 session is open for interested candidates

Least Package

The minor salary per annum in India for a CA is estimated at INR 3lakhs. This is a good starting salary for freshers. However, the CA who has done exceptionally well in the CA-Final Examination or has built a brand for themselves could earn the highest starting salary for CA.

The Chartered Accountant salary for an International Posting is between INR 9-18 lakhs pa, and the public sector could pay INR 10-20 lakhs p.a. Indian Business giants offer between 6-9 lakhs pa.

Demand for chartered accountants (CAs) has gone up substantially this year as companies are looking for people who can be a complete business solution provider adhering to all available tax laws. According to a report in the Times of India, there has been a 37% increase in demand for CAs this year, leading to an increase in their pay package also. In a first-ever virtual campus placement program concluded last month, 2,923 jobs were offered for fresher CAs compared to 2,135 in the previous year. The average annual salary offered also rose to Rs 8.9 lakh from Rs 7.4 lakh last year, the publication mentioned.
